Hello mates,
What's happening.. You guys been to garba for Navratri.. I went for dandiyas in Delhi.. It was super fun... After coming back from Delhi, I realized my heart is not in crafting... I keep thinking about my niece all day long waiting for her to come back...So to get my mojo kicking I arranged all my craft stuff (AGAIN.. it was already neat, I scattered it and re-did it all over again).. And Voila, the brain started functioning A BIT... *wink*
I have made a few easel cards before, the simple ones and I wanted to try something more complicated, so I gave a try to the twisted easel card hoping it would be complicated, but it really is not.. It's very simple nd is all about correct measurements and balance..So I searched and saw some lovely samples of twisted easel cards and made my own...Quite a bit of firsts in this card for me.. Will list them later
WARNING: Picture Heavy post
So here goes my take on the twisted easel card...
Ok, you have to excuse me for the bad pictures.. The light was dwindling and the weather is not helpful for photographs... And this needs to be posted ASAP.... So this is my take on the double twisted easel card.. I'll give you close ups of all the elements and then prattle about the card...
The left panel...
The right panel:
The tags.. They are just cut in shapes and punched and an eyelet is studded into them.. No mean feat.. just for writing sentimental ramblings...
The centre sentiment.. :D
That was one heck of a post with lots of pictures... LOL... Anyways.. let's dissect this card...
The base is a 10*10 beige card stock bought locally ( I know that's like HUGE).. The panels are 5*5 squares of the same colored card stock.. On the panels I have used a double-sided PP which was a RAK on my birthday from Ash.. The base PP was a birthday RAK from Shruti. The image is a coloring page from Sarah Kay I found on Google... The die cuts have been traced and hand cut and done some faux stitching around both the die cuts... The ribbon is from my stash and so are the mulberry roses ( using them for the first time.. Yipppeeee).. The tags are of all basic shapes made from scraps left from the cards I keep making.. Did faux stitching on them and the pink ribbon is from my stash.. Blinged it up using some Pie Lane butterflies.. On the pocket panel are PTI butterflies, traced and cut on scraps of PPs left with me... blinged up the butterfly using Pie Lane chunky glitter.. The black stones are from my stash.. The center sentiment is borrowed from a friend.. Used an Ek Success border punch in black for the centre.. Some more Pie Lane butterflies and faux stitching and touched up with Pie Lane buttons... :-).. The eyelets are bought from a local shop!
There you have it.. All the ingredients for a card which took me a whole load of time.. Almost 6 hours.. :-|... The longest I have ever taken to complete one card...
Anyways am entering this card for the following challenges:-
ICRC11=> Easel card+ use basic shapes (squares, circles, rectangles and triangles)
Allsorts=> 5 flowers
Creative Card Crew=> Easel cards
Paper and such design=> Recipe ( ribbon, designer paper, 2 buttons)
OSAAT=> use a digi
That's all folks.. Your comments are highly valuable for me... Have a great week...
Hugs,
Khush
