Washi + stamping = Pure bliss

Happy Saturday everyone,

What plans for the weekend? I intend to now devote all my time for planning my niece's first birthday bash.. Time flies and she will be a year old already... I made a quickie card yest using my very favorite Washi tapes and some stamping... Absolutely love the outcome and I am totally in love with my CAS phase.. To imagine I was clueless as to what CAS would entail and now my last few posts have all been CAS!!

This card also has butterflies.. I seem to have a lot of these butterfly stamps in my stash.. And they are just so versatile.. You can use butterflies just for any occasion.. :D

This card has been going on in my mind for quite sometime... The colors, the LO all was done in rough.. All I had to do was execute it on paper... I did it in 9 minutes flat... I love the fact that these cards can be produced in mass and for different occasions.. All I need to do is change the sentiment.. LOL

Supplies:-
White fabriano card stock
Washi tape
Butterfly is from MME lost & found set and the sentiment is from Fiskars lasting love
Inks-memento danube blue and lilac posies and the orange one from MICIA, black from unity.

Entering this card for the following challenges:-
For the love of crafting=> CAS
Ruby's Rainbow=> butterflies
YCU=> Hot Trends ( I used Washi tapes)

Thanks for dropping by... Have a fantastic weekend..

Hey guys,

I have been dreaming of this card ever since I saw it on Pinterest... it's not like the card I saw but the design was definitely inspired by Pinterest... It's become my favorite place to hang out and improve my CAS work.. I am in love with CAS and would definitely like to try some more of it..

Today's card is dedicated to tejal and her love for butterflies and eventually giving me a love for butterflies. Mind you, am still not THAT huge a fan of butterflies like tejal is but moderately influenced of course. And it is CAS, my new love and does not have washi... I did some stamping and coloring... Yayy!!

Will just go onto show you the card..

I love the contrast of colors against the black... Black rocks and everything on it just looks even more elegant... :D

Supplies:-
Black Fabriano cardstock, Baby blue CS from CTMH and brustro for stamping
HA Antique engravings and Unity Noir ink
Staedler water color pencils
White gel pen for faux stitching

Friendship day swap at swap central

Hey guys,

Back with another post.. This is my post of revealing the contents of the friendship day swap at Swap Central. For all those of you who do not know about swap central, it is a unique blog started by 3 MAD craft enthusiasts, namely Tejal, Saumya and Me. We are unique in the sense that we swap handmade goodness based on the theme of the swap. We have been totally floored by the response by all the people who have participated and we are totally humbled by it. Thank you so much guys for all the love and hope to see you guys showing us more love as we go along. We have some fun swaps coming up.

Anyways, enough of rambling, I shall just go on to show you the pics of the swap. We had to make four 4x4 note cards, a notebook and a friendship band. So here goes the pics.

I have used Fabriano Card stock, Washi tapes, Fiskars stamp set and MICIA ink along with worn lipstick distress ink on this note card

This card has Fabriano card stock, Paper mania PP, digi image, alpha stickers from Itsy Bitsy and broken china distress ink. the image is colored using steadler water color pencils.

Fabriano card stock and Brustro for stamping, Maya road doilies stamp, Memento Dandelion ink, Sentiment from Fiskars inked using Unity noir ink, Adhesive gem stones from stash.

Fabriano card stock, Paper mania PP, Fiskars stamp, unity lilac ink, Die butterflies from PTI-traced, handcut and zentagled upon, vintage photo distress ink.

The notebook has been made using high quality bond paper and a card stock for cover. It is 5x5 in size and I got it spiral bound locally. The PP is Echo Park, some washi tape, bling from stash, Surfer Anya stamp from the greeting farm colored using steadler water color pencils, faux stitching.

A consolidated pic of the swap contents including the alpha beaded friendship band.

I had a lot of fun making this swap.. I got to use my new love-the washi tapes, I tried some zentangling which is very therapeutic, some stamping and lots and lots of coloring. Hope you guys like it too..

Did you see my Watermark?? I finally got it done and started using it and feel mighty chuffed about it.. LOL.. Thanks Tee.. Totally appreciate it!

Please do your valuable comments as they are highly appreciable. Have a crafty week and a super day.

With love!

Happy Independence Day everyone,

Today we celebrate our 65th independence day and it is just such an awesome feeling. While patriotism isn't always on the forefront but listening to the national anthem today is absolutely awesome.. I get teary for some reason.

I have a quick card to share with you which I made using Washi Tape.. yes I am absolutely in love with it and you would probably see some more projects with it.. :D... This is a simple card assembled really quickly but I was unsure of it as I felt something was lacking. I wanted a ribbon but irrespective of having tons of ribbons I never find the color I want for my projects. *sigh*

Anyways, let me show you the card.

This is the card lying flat

I love the brightness of the card stock against the subtle tones of the washi and the sentiment ink, voila I found a perfect color.. LOL!!

Supplies used:-
neon green Fabriano card stock layered with Brustro
Washi tapes
Fiskars sentiment inked using MICIA pigment ink
Faux stitching

Notebooks

hey guys,

Long time no see... Belated Happy Friendship Day... Hope you guys had a great time with friends.. the last swap at swap central was a friendship day swap wherein we made notebooks, note cards and a friendship band.. Sharing with you the extras I made for 3 of the coolest buddies I made in blog land-Tee, Shalini and Saumya.. I've known Tee and Shalini for over a year now and it was recently I got introduced to Saumya via the BBM ( Blackberry messenger).. The Blackberry guys are a lifesaver for enables em to stay in touch with them 24x7 .. Poor them.. Lucky me... *wink*

Now Saumya and Tee weren't able to participate in the swap so i thought why not make extras and send some love their way....I don't remember which I sent to whom so I'll just share them.....

These were super fun to make.. Had they not been part of a swap I doubt I would ever try making one... These are 5x5 size... The inside blanks are 100gsm bond paper and the cover is a card stock which is purchased locally... rest of the details let me list!!

Note Book1- Embossed blue paper was a RAK from P, Precious Moments digi from the net colored using Steadler Water Color Pencils and some golden Pie Lane glitter balls, tumbled glass distress ink and faux stitching with black gel pen.

Note Book2- PP is a leftover scrap from somewhere, Yellow scallops hand-drawn and cut, precious moment digi colored using staedler water color pencils, Tumbled glass distress inks on the edges, all die cuts traced and hand cut and faux stitching using white uniball signo gel pen.

Note book3-PP is from EP 6x6 pad which I had purchased from Ujjwal, Penny black paint the town red stamp colored using Staedler water color pencils, Black Fabriano scrap for die cut with white uniball faux stitching, black rhine stones from stash, vintage photo distress ink.

Life takes a lot of twist and turns and you learn from the past experiences.. the last year year has been so.. It's been bittersweet but what has been constant is the presence of Tejal and Shalini, backing me all the way irrespective of anything and this unconditional love is truly special...Like my bestie says.. Those who stay are really your friends... the rest are fair weather cuckoos and it is best to get rid of them.. And I kinda agree.. Life is simpler without the cuckoos... :P and awesome with the great people I have around me.... on that awesome note I shall say adios and see you guys with another post soon...

Have a great crafty week and take care.. comments highly valuable and wanted....

Hugs,
Khush
