Simply Scrapping....

Hello....

How has everyone been and how was Diwali?? Did you guys have a blast... I did have a blast although now am so tired I feel lethargic to even move my BIG body... Aarrggghhhh... And of course, with every break I take my Mojo says.. Well you wanted a holiday for 2 days.. I'll give you even a longer break.. I'll go fishing and I am like Aaaaarrrggghhhh a second time...

Anyways.. today's card is a scrappy one.. I have now accumulated like 2 big boxes of scraps and mum was going pretty berserk and kept threatening to throw them out.. And I was really scared in case she decided to make good of the threat... So I was scratching my head wondering what to make when this idea clicked to me....Had been speaking to my best mate's girl then.. She kind of liked the idea and asked me to make one for her guy ( meaning my bestie) to celebrate ALMOST 5 years of togetherness *wood touch*... So basically, I literally put my heart in it...

Made a tag book... Or whatever you wanna call it.. It was basically a way for me to use my scraps.. I cut off the tiniest of pieces to make use of it... LOL...

Take a look at it but let me give you far warning that this is a PICTURE HEAVY POST... :D

This is how it looks like in a bunch... Now I will give you close-up shots of individual tags...

Like I mentioned... All the tags made out of scraps.... The die cut shape has been traced and hand cut... This time it became tedious because it really was a long ask... :-).. the digi is a coloring page from the net.. All the bling on it from my stash... All the white space will be covered by my friend.. She wanted to add something to it.. LOL... Colored using my water color pencils from Staedler... and some faux stitching around it... :-).. the just a note is from Unity's Just wanted to say bought from Ujjwal...

Made a mini card and stuck on this tag.. The die cut shape ofcourse has been traced.. even this mini-card is made out of scraps.. The PP was a RAK from Shruti and this is the last bit of scrap left from it which I have used...The MS butterflies were a RAK from Spardha ( Thank you Kiddo.. I love them).. and some Pie Lane crystals... and faux stitching around it using my white signo gel pen.. :-)

A lot of stickers from Itsy Bitsy.. Some faux stitching... and my wonderful writing...

The red circles have been hand drawn and cut.. Faux stitching.. The yellow space is left blank for some doodling... (personal stuff.. Cannot show it on blogger.. *wink*)...

Hobby Ideas PP, Scallop circle hand cut.. Itsy bitsy flowers embosed and some Pie Lane Chunky glitter and glitter balls... :-)

Pie Lane silhouette sticker and loads of writing... :D....

made a sun out of die cuts... And just the Pie Lane Out line hearts for embellishment.. Simple.. :-)

Some quilling by moi, Pie Lane flowers and leaves... They are just so adorable and fun to use.. Love the effect of them with quilling... :-).. The golden star on the flower centre was sent to me by Doc... More of it later...

A tag with a pocket to hold some more tags.. LOL... THis was made by request.. There is no dearth of writing when you're in LOVE... :D.. The PP was a birthday RAK from Piali..

This is the last tag of the lot.. I have made a single page squash book and stuck it on the tag.. Squash books are good fun to make.. Will post the one I made soon, as soon as the recipient receives it... The PP on top of the squash book is from Street lace which I bought from Karuna's store...The PTI butterfly has been traced and cut on the last scrap of PP which was a RAK from Shruti... The ribbon is from my stash... Lots of faux stitching again... :-)

A look at the cover of the squash book... :-)

The brown bling is from my stash... Inspired by seeing cards from Tejal and Shalini.. Their flourishes look like flourishes.. Mine looks like a trail of fire... What the heck.. I'll improve.. :D....

The inside of the squash book... :-)

The top left and bottom right PP is from Hobby Ideas.. The squashed squares have PP from Grace Taylor and Paper Mania.. The former bought from karuna's store and the latter a RAK from tejal... The red flower stones were sent to me by Doc and the so are the tiny flowers used on the top panel.. Thanks Doc...

Well, that's it folks.. This is the complete tag book.. I had so much fun making it.. There is just so much you can do with this.. the scope and possibilities are endless...

Special mention about my delayed birthday card from Doc.. She sent me the most amazinf phoenix pop up card... Which unfortunately has been kept somewhere in the whole diwali cleaning.. promise to upload it as soon as I lay my hands on it again.. Along came a pack of beautiful rhinestones, leaves and heart shaped pearls...Thanks so much for ti Doc... Truly appreciate it...

Tejal's birthday card... :-)

Heylo Peeps,

We had such a blast planning this surprise for her and it worked.. PERFECTLY... Well the whole idea was that we'd do a sneak peeks of our cards in the hop and the card would be given to her at 12 in the night.. ( I had couriered them off to her husband who promptly gave it to her at 12.. Thanks Hemang... )...

I being the lucky soul got to see ALL of the cards being sent to her before anyone else... yeyeyeye... *LOL*

I had such a tough time making a card for Tejal.. Did not know what to make and how to make.. She is such a [perfectionist and I am so FAR from perfection that the divide between is too great to measure.. BUT.. after a lot of soul searching, googling and a bunch of other things.. I came up with the simple idea to KISS it literally...

So I made a gate-fold card for her.. Easy peasy and really fast to make because I was short of time.. Exhibition pressure was ON that time... So here's a full Monty of my card.. :D

The theme of our blog hop was Butterflies and Bling.. The two things the lady absolutely loves... It was an easy theme to decide but a difficult one to work upon... So after several head scratching hours I made this.. Isn't the cake digi cute... YESSS.. it is a digi.. :-)....

The previous sneak peek once more... :D

I absolutely love this digi... Cute cute cute and some more cuteness....

This is a pretty big card.. 6*12 inches... :-)... Pink fabriano cardstock of 12*12 ( I cut a full size sheet to size).... Layered it with PP which was a RAK by A... The digi image is from bows n berries which I had won in Y's blog... small pearls and bling are from my stash.. the big pearls were sent by A1 supply with my purchase of a punch from their store.. awesome pearls... Colored using my Staedler water color pencils and the butterflies have been coated with glue 'n' gloss.. The sentiment is a digi freebie I picked up from somewhere....

Happy Birthday Tee... Hope you have a wonderful wonderful day... :-).....

Khush

Friends are a gift.. :-)

Hey peeps,

Back with another card..  Just on a spree of completing ll the backlog I have managed to compile because of the exhibition.. SO studiously pouring over my unfinished cards and working on them.. :-)..

 This card I had seen while participating in one of the blog hops.. I don't remember which one but the lady;s card was my favorite amongst all the cards and I had promptly noted down all the instructions because it was an unusual fold and I LOVE unusual folds...

This card started of for someone.. then I decided no I'd give it to another one and then another.. Ultimately I kind of forgot who I wanted to give the card to... Good thing also.. Did not complete it as it it... Anyways enough of ramblings... You guys just look at the card.. :-)

The fold of the card really appealed to me... It's like uncovering a lot of layers.. Like in a person when you meet.. We have so many layers to our personalities and as we become better friends, we uncover something new about one another.. This card had actually started for Tejal, sorry Tee.. I dropped the idea mid-way.. And then went to a hoard of people before I decided to give it to bestie # 2... :-)... She really is a dear soul...

Now some more views of the cards...

This is with the ribbon untied.. I have tried tying bows.. I am kind of getting the technique and can see an improvement in my bows.. Not as good as E.T's but definitely improving.. :D...

 This is how it looks when the windows open.. (windows remind me of some really silly statements made by my bio teacher way back in school.. She's be like.. Girls.. open the windows and let the atmosphere come in and we'd be like :-o.. *LOL*)....

A close-up of the cutie image.. :-)...

The full open view of the card.. :-)... Now some close-ups of the individual panel.... *wink*

The sentiment says it all..

Love the deco shells border... :-)...

The blue metallic card stock is locally bought.. Some great colors in the metallic finish.. Shiny and Bright..  The fronta panel has Echo Park splash PP which I got from Ujjwal.. The windows have Bo Bunny Ad Lib papers from karuna's store... The insides have PPs from Hobby Ideas...The digi image is a freebie I found while searching for images on Google...The die cut flowers are from Itsy Bitsy have been embossed and layered.. the leaves and ferns were a RAK from priya.. Thanks girl... The ribbon's from my stash... The PTI butterfly has been traced and cut... Flower centres have Pie Lane glitter balls and so do the butterflies.. On the inside, The die-cuts have again been traced and hand cut.. The sentiment is from a MICIA stamp set I won in the ICR DT celebrations sponsored by Karuna and inked using a MICIA rainbow inkpad again given by Karuna.. The MS deco shells punch to complete the card.. :-) *Phew*... In case I missed something and you noticed.. Just drop in a comment and I will let you know...!!!

Super Duper Cute...

Heylo,

I am back after a teeny weeny break.. Actually it was no break at all.. Was just busy with the exhibition... Had a great time and got a good response to my work.. People appreciated my work and whoever dropped by the stall did pick up something or the other so that kept me happy... On hind sight I don't think I would have been able to put up a decent stall without the help of the following wonderful ladies- Karuna, Tejal, Shruti, Piyu, Priya and Spardha.. Thank you guys.. Your help was truly truly appreciated....

I have made quite a few cards and will keep posting them one by one.. This one's a twisted easel card which is huge in dimension.. It's an 8*8 card... :D... On request on someone really dear to me...

My card  is based on the CPS Sketch#137.. I have just inverted the sketch.. Or should I say I had made it correctly but I had stuck the panel wrong *embarrassed blush*.. So to my benefit I just turned.. Works well as it is.. easy peasy... :P

The square panel... :-)

And the very cute Betsy Bluebell from Penny Black

Isn't she absolutely adorable... I love the betsy bluebell stamps.. :-)... They are the cutest ever... Anyway enough of rambling...

The top one is from a DCWV stack and the bottom one from Grace Taylor Vintage collection both bought from Karuna... And the centre one was a RAK from Tejal.. The bottom PP is also part of the RAK from Tejal...The punched are Ek Success punch... The scallop circle has been traced and hand cut on a so-called card stock which was a RAK from Shruti..Did some faux stitching around the scallop circle.. The image is Penny Black Betsy Bluebell... Colored her using my Staedler water color pencils... The flowers have been punched and embossed with a Pie Lane button for centre.. Those cutie top flowers on the left are also from Pie Lane... Thanks Sri.. The sentiment is a digi I picked up from somewhere.. the pink and black rhinestones are from my stash... :-)

Easel Card

Hey friends,

Bright and sunny Sunday and am off for a movie.. Excited as it'll be me watching.. a movie after ages.. Almost 5-6 months.. :-| ... I made an easel card... This is my second easel card ever... And by far the smallest card I have ever made... :D.. Usually all my cards are pretty big...

Easel cards are fun to make because there is just so much you can innovate and do with them.. This one is kept fairly simple as it was customized for a friend who wants to give it to his Fiance and c'mon all of us have to agree that max guys go weak in their knees when it comes to selecting a card for their better halves so he judiciously left the decision on me.. :P....

Anyways, take a look at the easel card... It's PINK again.. :-|.. I am besotted with this color.. I need to change and move onto other colors.. Maybe a dark blue.. :-)

:D.. I just love this cutie girl.. I could use it anytime...

You can see the view outside my window... :D.... and of course the shadows being created by dear SUN... *wink*

The sentiment...

The card stock is baby pink in colour which I bought from my local stationers... the square also has a pink card stock.. over it is a Polka dotted PP which was a RAK from A... The super die cut frame was a RAK from P... The image is from a MICIA stamp set which I had purchased from the Crafting Queen Store...Quilled flowers are handmade by me.. That cutie bird is from Itsy bitsy... On the base, I have used a PP which was bought from Hobby Ideas.. The sentiment is a digi printout from E.. Did some faux stitching around the die cut sentiment which by the way has been traced and hand cut... Those blue shiny flowers are from Itsy Bitsy again.. Colored the image using my ever faithful Steadler water color pencils...

I am entering this card for the following challenges=>
ICRC11=> Easel card + Incorporate basic shapes.. I got round pearls.. :D...
Di's digi designs=> Girly challenge
My Sheri Crafts=> think Pink
Card Makin' Mamas=> Fancy Fold

That's all from my end folks.. Have a great Sunday everyone... Will see you guys with another card soon... Please do leave your valuable comments as they are very very important...

Hugs,
Khush

P.S:.. Have another peek at my angel.. :D

This is from her first photo shoot and her first pic with me... :-).. She looks so tiny in front of me.. LOL....

Double Twisted Easel Card

Hello mates,

What's happening.. You guys been to garba for Navratri.. I went for dandiyas in Delhi.. It was super fun... After coming back from Delhi, I realized my heart is not in crafting... I keep thinking about my niece all day long waiting for her to come back...So to get my mojo kicking I arranged all my craft stuff (AGAIN.. it was already neat, I scattered it and re-did it all over again).. And Voila, the brain started functioning A BIT... *wink*

I have made a few easel cards before, the simple ones and I wanted to try something more complicated, so I gave a try to the twisted easel card hoping it would be complicated, but it really is not.. It's very simple nd is all about correct measurements and  balance..So I searched and saw some lovely samples of twisted easel cards and made my own...Quite a bit of firsts in this card for me.. Will list them later

WARNING: Picture Heavy post

So here goes my take on the twisted easel card...

Ok, you have to excuse me for the bad pictures.. The light was dwindling and the weather is not helpful for photographs... And this needs to be posted ASAP.... So this is my take on the double twisted easel card.. I'll give you close ups of all the elements and then prattle about the card...

The left panel...

The right panel:

The tags.. They are just cut in shapes and punched and an eyelet is studded into them.. No mean feat.. just for writing sentimental ramblings...

The centre sentiment.. :D

That was one heck of a post with lots of pictures... LOL... Anyways.. let's dissect this card...

The base is a 10*10 beige card stock bought locally ( I know that's like HUGE).. The panels are 5*5 squares of the same colored card stock.. On the panels I have used a double-sided PP which was a RAK on my birthday from Ash.. The base PP was a birthday RAK from Shruti. The image is a coloring page from Sarah Kay I found on Google... The die cuts have been traced and hand cut and done some faux stitching around both the die cuts... The ribbon is from my stash and so are the mulberry roses ( using them for the first time.. Yipppeeee).. The tags are of all basic shapes made from scraps left from the cards I keep making.. Did faux stitching on them and the pink ribbon is from my stash.. Blinged it up using some Pie Lane butterflies.. On the pocket panel are PTI butterflies, traced and cut on scraps of PPs left with me... blinged up the butterfly using Pie Lane chunky glitter.. The black stones are from my stash.. The center sentiment is borrowed from a friend.. Used an Ek Success border punch in black for the centre.. Some more Pie Lane butterflies and faux stitching and touched up with Pie Lane buttons... :-).. The eyelets are bought from a local shop!

There you have it.. All the ingredients for a card which took me a whole load of time.. Almost 6 hours.. :-|... The longest I have ever taken to complete one card...

Anyways am entering this card for the following challenges:-
ICRC11=> Easel card+ use basic shapes (squares, circles, rectangles and triangles)
Allsorts=> 5 flowers
Creative Card Crew=> Easel cards
Paper and such design=> Recipe ( ribbon, designer paper, 2 buttons)
OSAAT=> use a digi

That's all folks.. Your comments are highly valuable for me... Have a great week...

Hugs,
Khush

Shalini's birthday card revisited

Hey friends,

Thank you to all those who participated in making Shalini's birthday blog hop so special.. She was very moved and literally in tears.. or maybe she was pouring buckets of tears... *wink* but it feels good to have made an effort to make her day good...

Anyways, being in Delhi that was a hurried post so I thought I'll re-post the card and give all the details for the card... Makes sense right...

So here goes...

This is my first card with a Penny Black image and isn't she just gorgeous... Well the papers were a RAK from Tejal and the Penny Black image was a RAK from Piyu.. Thank you lovely ladies and I love you guys.. :-).. Colored this cutie image using my Staedler Water Color Pencils...Did I tell you guys that my color pencils have mysteriously cracked from the center... Have doctored them with cellotape.. Hope it holds up fine...

PANEL 1:

Fabriano Elle Erre cardstock... PPs from Hobby Ideas and DCWV stack which I shared with Karuna.. Another lady I love... :D.. Made a note card and stuck it on one side of the panel... the next panel cut some clouds on Itsy Bitsy handmade paper and wrote Happy Birthday in different languages... The flower stickers are also from Itsy Bitsy... The bottom panel now has scribbled love notes from me... :D...

PANEL 2:

For the second panel I again used a fabriano elle erre cardstock.. The PPs are from Itsy Bitsy and DCWV... The left panel has a handmade sticker which was a RAK from Shruti...Second panel has die cut tags which have been traced and hand cut.. Quotes are hand written... Used some Pie Lane butterflies for embellishments.. The big die cut flower and sentiment is from Itsy Bitsy..

PANEL 3:

Fabriano Elle Erre cardstock and PPs are from Itsy Bitsy and RAK from tejal... The left side has an accordion side folded card... Inside are a lot of corny and sentimental stuff written.. The PP on the accordion fold card is Echo Park and the image is from a MICIA stamp set layered on a die cut which has been traced and hand cut and some faux stitching around it...Right side again a handmade sticker which was a RAK from Shruti...

PANEL 4:

Fabriano Elle Erre cardstock.. PPs are from DCWV and RAK from Tejal.. The left panel has a birthday poem on a die cut traced and hand cut.. Punched some big flower and used Alpha glitter stickers from Itsy Bitsy... Right panel, another poem.. The vase with flowers sticker is from Itsy Bitsy and a Pie Lane butterfly...The bottom panel was a solid colour PP on which I stamped using my Woodware Stamp called Indian Dreams and stuck these adjectives which was generated on Word....

Open View.

All the ribbons used on this card are from my stash... This was one of best cards I've made so far( My opinion)... *wink*.. Loving all the pink and tried to make it like a proper handmade card with craft elements and some handwritten stuff...

Wanna know something very funny... I took this card with em to Delhi, hoping to give it to Shalini when I meet her.. I did meet her... BUT I FORGOT to give it to her.. Iw as so busy jabbering with her that I forgot that I had to give her the card.. Now shall post it to her... LOL...

Anyways... Thanks for dropping by.. Comments welcome always... Happy Ashtami.. :-)

Hugs,
Khush
