Sorry Sorry .. I am a bit late in posting..Not in Kolkata, hence the delay.. But now without any further ado, let me show you the card especially made for Shalini...

i don't know if you guys know but PINK is one of Shalini's favorite colors and more recently she re-did something in PINK.. *wink *...

I made a circle flip up book for her.. My second attempt... Let me just get on with the card and then ramble...

This is the first panel of the card... Fabriano Elle Erre.. A note card, Some vlouds, Itsy Bitsy flower and lots of PPs....

This is the second panel and a view of my fingers of course....Same card stock.. Lots of PPs... Some stickers, tags and a lot of my hand writing...

The third and fourth panel follow the same pattern....

Right... This card so far has been my most favorite because for many reasons... One it is PINK... Two, it is for Shalini.. Three.. I think I went overboard with everything... :-)

Now for some serious things..
Shalini, the first time I met you, you left an impression and the friendship since on has been totally memorable... you've been there and supported the trashiest work I have given with some good advice... Wishing all the very best in life always... And have a great Birthday..

Now people.. make sure you start from the beginning and follow the hop to win some cool prizes... One lucky commentor would be sent a RAK from my end just to celebrate this happy occasion... for it is a very happy day.. Birthday after all....you have till 5th of Oct to play along although... the faster u wish her the better....

next along the hop is Tejal...

Happy birthday once again Shalini.. Love you loads and Hope this surprise works for you...

Flip Flops for you...!!

Hey guys,

Back with another card.. Mood since yesterday has been refreshingly vibrant.. I feel so blessed to have a niece to now play with that working is kind of taking a back seat but like they say, the show must go on and I need to craft to stop thinking of her else I feel like flying away to Delhi....

It's a big splash... I guess the baby has triggered the PINK phase on again... LOL....And this is like a proper girly girly card....

This is the flat profile of the card... the pink stands out so starkly against the black.. Whoosh...!!

And a view of the card standing.. I never used tot ake pictures with the card standing and since checking Ujjwal's blog I realized.. some cards look better standing....

Well I love the PINK... How good teh card is, I let you people decide....

Use a light pink Fabriano Elle Erre cardstock and layered it with a darker shade of pink from the same brand... the layered cardstock is actually a cardstock on which my stamping went bad.. so just turned it around and re-used it...The digi image is a freebie from designed2delight.. This was a freebie but I had not been able to participate for the monthly challenges as I was out of town...Layered the image on a Hobby Ideas PP scrap lying with me... The cornflowers and quilled flowers are handmade by me, and the button flowers were a Candy RAK from Holley...The blinged center of the flip flops has rhinestone from my stash surrounded by glitter balls from Pie Lane... The button on the corn flower is also from Pie Lane.. The ribbon is from my stash... The red gemstones besides the sentiment again from my stash and the sentiment stamp is borrowed from a friend and inked using unity's Noir from Ujjwal's store.. :-) and those leaves are fern punch from Punch Bunch....Did faux stitching one the dark pink panel using my gel pen...

First Masking Card...!!

OMG.. This was like unbelievably fun... I tried a new technique and I loved it.. It was truly something out of my comfort zone for as everyone here is aware am so much more comfortable using digi images than trying to stamp them...  I was cribbing to Tejal that am bored of the work I am doing and I wanted to try something new.. So it was her brilliant idea that I should try a one layer card and try masking.. So thanks Tejal, a big round of applause for her.. Another round of thanks to the manufacturers of Blackberry without whom this could not have been possible as she kept passing me instructions through the BBM and I went clicking pics and sending her pics to make sure that what I was doing was OK.. Another round of applause to my Blackberry service provider which is Bharti Airtel.. They ROCK..!! LOL Now that all the accolades are over, I'll get back to my card and Tejal.. Thanks once again..

This is my first true CAS card to be honest.. for in essence CAS cards should be minimally LOUD, if you know what I mean...!! And this is it... !!! Take a look at the card...!!

:D... I love these rose stamps.... I'll give you a close up of the roses...

Here it is folks.. First CAS Card.... Phew..!! Honestly... The simpler the cards are, the more difficult it is to make them.. Choosing the right color combo, the stamp, the placement.. When you have a multi layer card.. it's more like going with the flow and placing things here and there till all of the elements kind of coherently organize amongst themselves..But these simple cards and really fast to make and I kind of like to pace my work...!!

It's a white fabriano elle erre card stock measuring 5.5*4.25 and have rounded it's corners... The stamp image and sentiment is from a MICIA stamp set which I got from Karuna's store.. The sentiment is inked used french Lilac from Unity bought from Ujjwal and the image is inked using Noir from Untiy too...Have used Pie Lane glitter balls for my flower centers....

I am entering this card for the following challenges=>
Di's Digi Designs=> Anything goes
Less is More=>Anything CAS goes

That's it for now.. Will go and try some more of masking.. Please leave your valuable comments... And have a great Sunday all of y'all... Happy Crafting...

Khush

Hey peeps,

Back again... This card has been in my box for d last 1 week since I saw the sketch wanted to have a go at it...This card is based on the sunday sketch and stamp # 72 ... It's an awesome sketch... Take a look at the sketch...!!

and here is my card...

Yes, yes I know I have used this image in a card before but hell, it is such a cutie that I can use it over and over again.... and this card is extremely special for it's for a very special friend... Not from blogger.. but someone who I admire greatly.. Her birthday is just coming up so thought of making something for her... The colour combination is very unusual for me.. Take a look at the close up of an image

As you all can see.. I forgot to color the stem of the flower.... and *embarrassed* I have posted i that way... Damn!!.. had thought of coloring the stem once the glue and gloss dried but ti slipped my mind completely.. She'll probably think am berserk.. Oh hell she thinks so anyways...

A dedication!

Hey friends,

Am back.. I have been having fairly non productive days wherein all I feel like doing is... well NOTHING.. And I really have done nothing... I begin working on a project and mid-way through I get bored and dump it into my box of incomplete projects and the pile has been growing...!!

This card is a special dedication to some very special people.. I keep taking names.. This time I won't takes for anyone except Sri's for the rest already know who they are.. Love you guys.. .. This one's especially for her and Pie Lane... The association with Pie Lane has been fantastic.. Sri has not only been a friend but also a super mentor and her opinion is highly valued...

This is a quickie card by most standards but took me ages to complete as I was not getting the desired results.. The result is simple and the after effects is a room full of scraps and bits of paper.. Never knew easier cards are the most difficult o make...

Hope you like it Sri.. Having you as a friend is truly rocking... :-).. I shall not do any form of PDA as I know you detest it.. *wink*

Take a look at the card....!!

What say guys.... Fairly simple right.. I used a black Fabriano Elle Erre cardstock.. Layered with a pink cardstock which was a RAK from Shruti... The silhouette sticker is from Pie Lane as well as those cutie heart rhinestones.. the stamped sentiment is borrowed from a friend and inked with Unity Moulin Rouge which I bought from Ujjwal... Used the Martha Stewart deco shells around the page punch...

This goes for the following challenges=>

CAS Take 2

Hey friends,
Am back with a quickie post.. Gotta rush to a party but could not resist posting this.. I made another CAS using the same sketch as I used previously.. You can check that card here. I think am liking the whole idea of a CAS card.. Previously I used to fret as to how to embellish my card.... CAS helps me ( I don't need to think at all.. LOL)..

Anyways, take a look at the card

A close up of the image...

A flashback of the sketch...

I like the fact that this one took me less time ( if you ignore the coloring time)

The cardstock used is Fabriano Elle Erre, the orange ribbon is from my stash, the spellbinders label has been traced and handcut on a white cardstock again from Fabriano Elle Erre. The image and the sentiment is from MICIA stamps which I got from Karuna's store.. They are super cute and inked it using Unity's Noir bought from Ujjwal...I have put googlye yes on one of the chicks.. Take a closer look.. and colored the image using the Staedler water color pencils...

That's all for now folks.. I better dash and get ready before mum throws a fit.. Your comments are very valuable to me.. Till the next post which would be fairly soon... Happy Crafting...

Finally back with a D2D image!

Hey all you gorgeous people out there.. How is everyone doing today.. I have been having super hectic days.. Gosh.. So much to do not much time Phew..!!

I was missing the last couple of month's D2D progressive challenge.. First i was out of town and then I managed to hurt my foot..!! Finally am back in the groove to participate...

Here is my card...

A close up of the image..

This is such a cutie image.. I coloured it orange to make an orange tabby cat.... did some faux stitching around the scallop circle which has been traced and then hand cut... The cardstock is fabriano elle erre which I layered with a purple cardstock which I got from a local shop and above it an itsy bitsy patterned paper.. The purple strips remained behind after I cut the purple cardstock to size.. I was supposed to tie purple ribbons but I made this mistake while talking to SHORTY... and ended up sticking these strips instead.. The sentiment stamp I had won in a giveaway and have inked it using Unity Moulin Rouge which I bought from Ujjwal..The buttons and rhine stones are from Pie Lane...

The card is based on the Tuesday Morning Sketches #110

I turned the sketch around for my convenience...

CAS Card

Hey peeps,
Am back.. This time with a CAS card.. This is my very first attempt at anything CAS so please be kind to me but do point out where I can improve....

A few days back I had asked Tejal to help me with the whole concept of CAS because it seems very alien to me and she was very kind to send em some links.. Since then it has been there on my mind but I was just not getting around to doing it...

Today was a like a Eureka moment that enough is enough.. I AM GOING TO DO IT NOW.. So I went to the clean and simple blog and picked up their current sketch... Take a look at it...

And here is my take on the sketch....

I did an arrangement of quilled flowers in different colours...

A close up of my quilled flowers ( Seems like ages since I did so much of quilling.. LOL)

The Pink cardstock has been locally bought.. I traced the die cut and hand cut it.. It's not come out very neat this time thanks to the silly scissors..( I need new ones)...I layered the scalloped circle witha  circle ad palced all the quilled flowers on it.. Have used flat pearls as centres for some of the flowers.. The black ribbon was a RAK from Ash and the sentiment is from the Fiskars birds set which I got from Karuna's store and inked it using Unity Noir bought from Ujjwal.

I am entering this card for the following challenges::

Recycling

Hey peeps,
Yesterday was our rakhi.. Don't ask me why we celebrate it later than the rest of the people for I have no clue but it was a good haul this year.. More cash for craft shopping.. LOL..

Anyways This is my first project as a GD for any blog and it feels good.. ALTHOUGH.. it gave me jitters and goosebumps and worse was.. I could ask NO ONE for help as to how it looked.. I think I realized that being a DT member is not easy and deadlines mess up your mind for when you really need a Eureka moment, it sadly never happens.... It definitely was a good experience...

Now going onto the challenge, this time around at CraftyJC, we are doing our bit in saving Mother Earth so we'd like to see recycling in your projects.. it could be ANYTHING and not necessarily restricted to paper.. so get cracking and open your minds... Please make sure you leave a before and after picture so that everyone can know what it is that you have exactly recycled...

Here is my project, I made a bag out of old newspapers and embellished it with quilled flowers.. one made from recycled reader's digest cover and some flowers made of quilling strips...

The BEFORE PICTURE

Well as you can see, I've used old newspapers and my readers digest magazine covers ONLY.. I could never cut up my reader's digest....

And THE AFTER PIC

Voila.. Here it is.. I coloured the bag with red acrylic colours.. Those black die cuts are done out of old perfume box gift set whose scraps I threw away.. Did some faux stitching.. The digital sentiment is from some place I picked up on the internet ( blast my horrible memory, I need to organize my digital folders better)...The center quilled cornflowers are the ones I made from the reader's Digest cover, the side flowers are made of white quilling strips.. the cornflowers have a bee-hive shaped quilled piece for center.. I have blinged it up using Pie Lane glitter balls and butterflies..

The BACK...

The TOP VIEW

The bag is made out of sticking 5 sheets of newspaper together to give it some sturdiness.. I also added pieces of packing cardboard to give the base and top lapels some sturdiness...

You wanna see a side view.. Oh well if YOU INSIST..*wink*

Well I loved this challenge.. It made me try something which I had never done before and it was VERY challenging for me.. It took me ages to work out what I really wanted to make and kept trying and trying until all the elements fell in place... Recycling is a good way of using a lot of scraps to give a unique dimension to your project..

Hoping to see y'all at CraftyJC with recycling..

I am entering this project for the following challenges:
Wags 'n' Whiskers=> anything but a card
Totally paper crafts=> not a card
MAWTT=> Handmade flowers
paper play=> make your own flowers
Bearly Mine=> flowers flowers flowers
Die cut dreams=> make a gift box or bag

I also wanted to thank Dr.Sonia.. She gave me an award which makes me feel super.. She gave me the appreciated follower award... Well Doc.. It's a pleasure to be your follower for I get to learn so much from you.. Thank you for inspiring me always with your work...

Gosh it is difficult for me to give it to any one person.. So this is for all the people who drop by my blog regularly and comment.. you know who you are so right ahead and pick this award.. This is me saying thank you for always always being there and encouraging me to work harder...

That's all for now folks... Am off to plan my niece's birthday party which is tomo...Your comments are highly appreciated...Till the next time.. Happy crafting...

Hugs,
Khush

P.S: I've gotten a lot of requests for the corn flower.. I will DEFINITELY try to put up the tutorial next week.. Life is very hectic at the moment to say the least...
