Inked Background

Hello there,

I am back with yet another card which is inspired by Jennifer Mcguire's tutorial on her youtube channel. the technique was so cool and quite simple which made me wonder why had I not thought of it before. I am a huge fan of Jennifer's work and when it comes to inks I think she is like the ultimate guru. There is so much to pick up after seeing her work. The way she mixes inks with different elements to come up with the most awesome cards ever..

I will just go on and show the card to you guys..

Layering Fun

Hello,

Back with yet another quickie card.. Made this card on request and is very heavily layered by my standards. I am not a layering person and find it strange to keep piling things on my card and making it heavier LOL.

This was a kind of unplanned card and I just went with the flow of layering and adding things here and there. I really want to say hats off to people who rock at layering. I wonder how and truly salute you.. Since I got back to crafting, I have been making a serious effort of trying to play along with a few challenges and just enjoy the fun I get from crafting.

So here are the pics.. I have completely forgotten to take pics for the inside and it is now gone to the recipient.. :D.. Did some heat embossing and used my MFT chevron die for the inside, just to pretty it up a little bit. Like I said, layering and lots of layering.

Loved assembling this card. Once it started rolling I had a ball. A special mention to Nupur Priya.. Your image coloring a tremendous inspiration. I am now actually practicing coloring like you ( miles and miles to go). She does the most awesome coloring ever and her work is a treat to the eyes.

This is a 6"x6" card which I have just layered. I had the option of trying some fold but I seem to be enjoying this phase of just creating normal cards and using the hoarded PPs.. LOL

Supplies used:-
cardstock=> locally purchased, fabriano elle erre and brustro
PP is something I picked up from a local exhibition ( the same is available with reena gupta of craftegenous)
black archival ink and vintage photo distress ink
Floral ovals, tattered florals and cherry lynn flourish die
MS doily lace edge punch and 3-in-1 butterfly punch
Pearls and staedler water color pencils

Entering this for the following challenges:-
Kraftzone=>Whimsy wee stamped cards
4 crafty chicks=> flowers

Pink Love

Good morning everyone. Here is wishing everyone a fabulous Sunday. I am back with a quick post on a card I made yesterday. I was browsing through Pinterest when this sketch caught my fancy. I am not really a sketch person for somehow I can never follow the sketch ( I end up adding or missing elements from the original sketch, LOL). I can proudly say I did manage to do and I am so chuffed about it.

It is my favourite color combo card-PINK and BLACK. Yes, I truly believe when you cannot get a color combo going, go for pink and black, it solves everything. I do not have the sketch saved me as I had roughly drawn it on the paper for reference. Pinterest is a life saver when you want to make cards just for fun. go pick a sketch from the zillion available and get cracking. I did break my head for over 4 hours on this one because I could not get my embellishment placement in place.

Here goes,

This was a fun card to come up with. I tried so many color combinations before of course going to my beloved pink. Althought I am NOT a pink person, I love it on my cards. This is quite a big card- 5"x7". Although it is right side heavy ( like the sketch demanded, I love the blank spaces on the left side. It balances out in my eyes)

Supplies Used:-
card stock=> Locally purchased, KCK(Honeymoon Splurge) and Brustro
PP=> Paper Mania Confetti collection from Jovita
Embossing folders=> Provocraft dots from Varshitha and interlocking circles from the craftshop
Ms Doily lac and 3-in-1 butterfly from crafters corner

picked raspberry distress ink from the craftshop
Penny black sentiment stamp from Meetu
pink pearls from stash
Versamark Ink from Thecraftshop
Ranger black embossing powder and ranger heat it tool from crafters corner

Entering this for the following challenges:-
Color Conceptions=> dry and wet embossing
Lulupu=> Feminine colors using border punches and flowers
We do Doobadoo=> Lots of layers
Simply Create Too=> Stack 'em up

Thanks for dropping by. I hope to see you guys very very soon.
