Birthday Easel

Hey guys,
Back with another post.. I have been having a great time crafting lately.. The ideas are plenty and thankfully being able to execute them as I want to.. :).. The feeling is totally euphoric.. I used to get really annoyed when my ideas wouldn't translate onto paper..

I made a scallop circle easel card.. Have seen everyone around me try it and I was skeptical trying it out because- well I don't have a die-cutting machine and I would have had to hand-cut it and that was preventing me from trying it out.. Yesterday I let go all my inhibitions.. Took out my trusted scissors and got on with the job.. :)

This is what I came up with.. :D

I should have taken a closer shot of the card standing.. Nonetheless.. This should suffice for the moment.. it's a green card.. I have a penchant for unusual color mood swings.. I scare my own self when it comes to my color choices.. Vintage has been on my mind lately but I am not a vintagy person so I am not letting it take over my brain.. :D

A few more shots of the card... The first of it lying flat.. :)

Now a close-up of the image..

A close up of the simple sentiment... :)

Here it is.. A sweet, simple and must say a small and compact card.. I used to wonder at the size of the circle easel cards when I saw them being made by others... After making one for myself I realized it's really small and compact.. There is not much room to go over board with your embellishment.. I like more room to go about doing my embellishing and this was a real test for me as I was left with no space at all after I placed the digi.. :).. But super fun card to make.. :)

Supplies:-
beige Card stock locally purchased, Brustro for stamping the sentiment and layered on a Fabriano orange cardstock scrap
PPs=> RAK from Tejal.
Digi=> The paper shelter
Brown gem stones from stash
Pie Lane butterflies
Sentiment=> Fiskars make a wish purchased from Imaginations online
Ink=> Memento Lady Bug purchased from imaginations online.
Coloring medium=> Staedler water color pencils
The scallop circle shape has been traced and hand cut, hence not completely perfect!

Entering this for the following challenges=>
BGC#9=> Shaped cards plus birthday
The paper shelter=> Birthday card with sentiment
Crafty sentiments design=> BINGO ( Patterned paper, colored image, punches/die cuts)
Sassy cheryl's digi stamps challenge=> anything but square
Joanna Sheen challenge=> Happy Birthday

That's all folks.. Catch you guys soon with another post.. Your comments are highly valuable.. Please do let me know what you think of my work.. :D

To bestie with love!

Hello,

Am back AGAIN with another card which I made on order.. Someone wanted to give  card to their best friend who she was meeting after a year.. The idea appealed to me.. It's been like forever since I saw my best buddy... So keeping my best buddy in mind plus the specifications the customer had.. I made a box card...

The box card is really fun to make and gives enough space to scribble if a person enjoy scribbling.. I love writing mush on my cards.. Nothing beats a few handwritten words...Especially to a friend you are meeting after ages...

So here goes the lid of the box (top view)

This is how the lid looks... The recipient is a butterfly lover and when I think of butterfly I am reminded of Tejal so this card is actually conceptualized based on what I would want to give to my bestie incorporating Tejal's love for butterflies... :D.. Thanks Tee... you truly are an inspiration!!

Side view 1:

This is how my box looks standing from one angle...

The other view:-

This is another angle.. I've made tag pockets on the two opposite "walls" of the box and put in a couple of tags.. Just to ensure the customer has enough space to express her love for her bestie..!!

Now the box card after it has opened:-

I love the color combo.. I know it's PINK but well Pink really does go well with the occasion...

Giving u detailed shots of the individual panels

This is the center of the box with the sentiment.. I absolutely love this sentiment and is so true about friends and times spent with them.. It is a memory we cherish forever...!!

The side inside walls...

Journaling tag sentiment.. perfect for friends...

Lots of adjectives used to describe the friendship between my customer and the recipient...

Another journaling tag... Journaling tags make life easy and solve a lot of my embellishing problems.. :D

And a cute digi of two friends holding hands and the box card is complete...

Supplies:-
White card stock=> purchased locally
PPs=> DCWV stack 8 purchased from Mansi
HA flourish background and Antique engravings
Ribbon from stash
Black, brown and pink bling from stash
memento Lilac posies purchased from Varna
Ek success border punch
Sentiment from Fiskars Good Times quotes purchased from Imagiantions
The flowers around the sentiment were on a scrap booking kit sent by Saumya.. I just fussy cut them.
Pie Lane butterflies, swirls and crystals
Journaling tags from Echo Park a walk in the park and playground purchased from Saumya
Martha Stewart deco shells around the page punch
The adjectives words were a freebie from the internet
Jeff flower punch
Digi is from Sliekje digi stamps
All die cuts have been traced and hand cut
Colored using Staedler water color pencils.

Black, grey with a splash of Yellow

Hey guys,

It is almost the weekend and I am so looking forward to it...It's been a really hectic week so far.. Lots of card making plus lots of social activities and I am all but drained.. Plus the heat in Kolkata is killer.. Phew!!

I've recently caught Tejal's butterfly bug...I am in love with the Hero Arts butterflies and I try using them at every possible opportunity... :D

I am having strange mood swings pertaining to color.. I had the pink phase, then a green phase.. My cousin thinks am a total whacko when it comes to colors.. So yesterday when I sat down to make the card trying to follow a sketch (at which I must say I failed abysmally, thanks to missing out on elements of the sketch).. I was too besotted by the color grey and wanted a grey black color card.. I've never done a proper grey and black combo card so well why not give it a try. And to add a bit of spice to it, I added the color yellow.. Have a look at the card...

I love the color combo.. The yellow stands out so well against the black.. :D

A close up shot of the butterfly...

I have crimped the black band on the PP and the circle on which the butterfly is placed.. Easy peasy card.. :D

And the most important bit of it I have got to show you... :)

Yippeee.. I finally have my own custom stamp.. This was designed by Tee.. Thanks so much Tee.. If you want one designed for yourself you can Contact tee here. The design was turned into an acrylic stamp by Varna's stamps so thanks so much for that Varshitha!!

Supplies:
Grey and white card stock=> Fabriano elle erre; black card stock=> Locally purchased
PP=> Street Lace mat stack purchased from the erstwhile craftingqueenstore
Stamps=> Hero Arts Antique engravings
inks=> Unity noir bought from Ujjwal
Coloring Medium=> Staedler water color pencils

My love for stamping (contd)

Hey guys,

Am back with another stamped card. Am loving this stamping bug. Till 2 years back I was unaware of anything like a so-called stamping technique existing and here I am today trying to learn something new. card making and blogging has opened a whole new world for me and I have learnt so much since i started blogging.

This is like a complete Hero Arts project.. Love love love the brand and the stamps it has. I unfortunately own just a  couple of them and am stretching it to the maximum.. :D.. I do plan to lay my hands on a few more really soon though.. :D

I tried the masking technique on this card. I had done a couple of masking cards before. You can check them out here and here. While in my earlier two cards had the focal image masked, in this I created a center circle mask in which to place my focal image. Take a look

Yes yes, I used my BG stamp again but it is just so gorgeous and this really was an idea to work on.. I tried masking on it. The center area where the butterfly is placed was masked using a post-it. You gotta look closely.  The butterfly is then stamped, cute, colored and popped up using double-sided tape.

Supplies:-
white cardstock=> Fabriano Elle Erre
Stamps=> HA flourish BG stamps.
                 Antique Engraving from HA
Inks=> Memento Dandelion for the BG bought from Imaginations and Unity Noir bought from Ujjwal
Mini retro flowers using Jeff Punch
Pie Lane glitter balls for flower centers
Brown bling from Stash
Coloring Medium> Staedler water color pencils

Entering it for the following challenges:-
 Creatalicious challenges=> Butterflies and add some flowers
Sundays with Crissy=> things with wings

Thanks for dropping by.. Have a great start to a new week.. Your comments are highly valuable for me so a big thank you for taking time out for that...

Liebester Award

Happy Sunday everyone,

I got the Liebester award from Tejal eons back but was unable to post it because I did not know who to pass on the award to... I was at  total loss so took some time.. :D.. Getting an award from tee is truly truly special for she is a SUPER crafter and an absolutely SUPER AWESOME friend!

The idea of the Liebster Blog Award is to spread the love from one small blog (under 200 followers) to other small blogs. This helps to spread knowledge and readership.

To accept the award, you must:
1) Link back to the person who gave it and thank them for thinking of you.
2) Post the award to your blog.
3) Give the award to 5 bloggers (with less than 200 followers) that you appreciate and value.
4) Leave a comment on the blogs of the five people you have chosen to let them know.
It is very very hard to narrow down on just 5 blogs...

I am passing this award to:-
1) Nupur of Nupur Creatives=> Her quilling is absolutely divine
2) Gopi Shah of Giftarts=> Another super quiller I got to know of recently
3) Shruti of Suppak Art=> her work in her words is totally Suppak
4)Kavya of fantasies of paper=> She might be a teenager but her work is exemplary
5)Piyu of notjustquilling=> She started off as a quiller but one should now see her stamping.

Tejal thank you so much for passing on this award for me.. It means a lot to me.. See you on BBM... :P

Will be back soon with a card.. I am going crazy stamping.. Ohh la la.. And having super fun honestly...

Have a great sunday...

Hugsm,
Khush

It's pink and it's stamped!!

Hey there guys,

How is everyone doing and what plans for the weekend? I plan on catching up on movies and crafting of course.. :D

I made my first FULLY stamped card and am pretty ecstatic about it. It is PINK which is somehow turning into my favorite color *rolling my eyes* and of course stamping. I am a complete non-stamper. AM totally paranoid about stamping and I try to avoid it as much as possible. The thing which triggered this card is well Piyu's last card. I so fell in love with it and tried to do my version of it. Her's is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS.

Anyway, enough of small talk, I shall just get on with my card. I am so impatient. I finished the card like 5 minutes back and am already here posting it. *sheepish grin*

What say you guys? I don't know about anyone else BUT I am absolutely tickled pink about this card and feeling pretty good about it.. LOL !!

I absolutely love the BG.. yayy!!

A close-up of the central focal point... :)

Easy peasy right. Not much to say about the card except that I really enjoyed making this one. I hope I make some more soon. Stamping ain't that bad. Tejal, I hope you are reading this properly because I will NOW harass you even more than before. *devilish laugh*

Supplies sued:-
Pink base card is a pre-folded one from Itsy Bitsy I had won at CraftyJC
The layering pink card stock is a fabriano scrap
Stamps:- HA flourish background, my birthday gift from Shalini. Thanks so much ({})
                Bird is from Fiskars purchased from the erstwhile craftingqueen store

Swap Central India

Hey guys,

Mid-week blues on is it?? The heat in kolkata is absolutely killer and is making me lethargic but irrespective of  that, I have been crafting and will post some of the new creations soon...

Like I mentioned in my post a few days back...There is a new swap station in town called Swap Central India.. But it of course has to be different. It is the brain child of numerous BBM chats between Tejal, Saumya and me of course. Thank God for BBM .. :D The idea behind it is to exchange hand crafted good made out of paper crafts.. It is our love of paper crafts which binds us all together.. So this unique concept gave birth to the new blog.. Of course we are not ruling out the exchange of craft supplies but we would mainly be focusing on hand crafted goodness

Really happy with the way things have progressed and we are breaking and banging our heads to come up with new ideas to swap so as to keep it as interesting as possible for our fellow crafters so that we all can join in and have fun together...

So what are you waiting for.. Go ahead and checking out the swap central blog and register for the first swap which is up and running.... Follow the blog so that you do not miss out any of the updates...

Lots of crafty goodness to be exchanged

Hugs,
Khush
