Bhagwat Invites

Hello,

I know I have been MIA for over a month now.. I have been breaking my back over an order and took a tumble the next I finished it.. yea I know.. I am clumsy and falling is apparently my birthright.. But.. Good news.. No plaster... Woo Hoo...!!

So I had a 250 invite order for the Shrimadbhagwat katha happening at a relative's place... What is this katha (sermon) all about.. It basically talks about all the avatar's of Vishnu (the creator in Hindu Mythology) and is a huge celebration.. It's like a mini Indian wedding.. A lot of prep goes into doing it...

Now the relatives wanted something different from the usual printed stuff and what better way to go different than going handmade... So I made a deconstructed 6-fold card... I have changed a few elements of it... :D

SO here goes...!!

   The card lying flat

                                                                           The card standing

                                                                             Inside view-1

Inside view 2

I had a lot of fun making these because this was the first time I was making traditional... Every element on this card symbolises Vishnu... :-)...

Supplies:-
All card stock=> Locally purchased
Photograph printed
Woodware USA Indian Dreams stamp set for the peacock feather
Adhseive bling used in Indian wedding invites procured locally
Floral Ovals Die from Jovi's store...

Love Birds

Happy Sunday guys,

We are almost approaching Diwali and I am just so busy with orders, house cleaning, personal gifts, cards and top of that preparations for my nephews wedding... Did it feel like I was ranting.. I suppose I was but am sleep deprived and not keeping completely well so I guess a rant once in awhile is ok..

Just sharing a quick card using the CAS(E) this sketch#3...

Here is the challenge sketch...

here is my take on the sketch..

 card lying flat

Fairly easy card of 5'x7' dimension... Following the sketch, I based my scene inside the scallop circle which is traced and hand cut.Popped the birds after stamping and fussy cutting on some dimensional adhesive.. Used glue and gloss (Indian version of glossy accents) on the heart to make it pop...I used my black BIC markers to give a faux mat effect ( Thanks Tee for this)

Supplies used:-
Cardstock=> fabriano Elle Erre
PP=> DCWV
Stamp set=> recollections love birds
Inks=> Unity noir and lily green, memento lady bug and grape jelly
BIC markers for coloring
Glue and gloss

Have a wonderful day and a great week...

Quad easel card

Hi Guys,

If you are coming for Tejal's blog hop, kindly click here to go to the post.

I made a Quad Easel for Tejal's birthday... Just sharing detailed shots of the card.. Am frickin' impatient and could not wait any longer to share the pics...

Making cards for special friends is very difficult... For anything you make doesn't feel good enough and making a card for Tejal was scary.. Not because she wouldn't like it but she is such a perfectionist and I am far from perfect.. I should say me and perfection have no bonding at all.. :P

So I decided to go with what I do best... Bright colors and special fold cards... I had been meaning to try the quad easel card for ages... Looks complicated but is so easy to assemble...It looks like a table decoration and can be manipulated to be just about anything...a card.. a frame.. center piece... Numerous options...

Well, enough of rambling... Will just go and show you the detailed shots of the card...

love you-multi flap mini

Hey guys,

How is everyone doing.. I am neck in work while my health continues to trouble me. The blood pressure refuses to rise.. I guess high time I picked on a fight.. :P..Haha.. jokes apart it has been really difficult to craft.. I feel sleepy all the time thanks to my low BP..

Anyways sharing with a multi flap mini I made for my bestie... He has been married 3 years and wanted to gift something special to his wife whom he had dated for 12 years before tying the knot. The gift is they 15th anniversary gift (12+3)... :D... They have shared I guess a zillion cards from Archies ( they were the favored customers of our local archies store) and have quite a huge collection of the cards.. So his only request was, the poems from all their numerous cards be incorporated into his mini ( his favorite verses from the cards have been handwritten by me).. I always did write for him in the cards and I guess we continue with the trend.. LOL...

So I made this multi flap mini.. it's a 6x6 mini and it was a huge challenge for I am at a complete loss as to what to put in them.. Moreover since I would be putting in no pics ( that's another album in the making with their journey pics).. So it was digis and lots of mush...

I won't really ramble much.. Just share pictures.. It's a multi-fold mini but I cannot show you the folds through pictures.. I do have a video but have no clue how to edit it.. Still learning.. Once I get hold of how to edit would add it to the end of the post or maybe another post...

So here goes...!!

Baby explosion Box

Hey guys,

Am back with another.. A card on order for a client.. A new baby is about to bless their family and they wanted a card in which everyone from the family would be writing messages for the new born.. Since we do not the sex of the baby I kept it a neutral color so that it could be gifted to a boy or a girl.

A new baby brings so much joy into the house. So keeping this in mind, I have used a lot of bright colors ( I am anyways a bright color addict).. There really isn't much to say about this.. As they say a picture speaks a 1000 words so am gonna show off the box with a lot of pictures.

Ok, let me describe the explosion box in short. it has three layers. The bottom layer has the giraffe tag pockets on opposite sides and two pane;s of handwritten mush. Outside I have done a sea themed look with dolphins, crabs and octopus. The lid has a cute pinwheel. I love making pinwheels.
The second layer has tag pockets on two panels and detachable tags on two panels. Teh back side has 4 note cards on each panel. The top most layer has 2 panels of detachable tags and two panels of mush. The back side of the last panel has tag pockets and tri-shutter cards on the opposite sides. The centre has the pram.

I loved making the pram. Thanks doc for the amazing tutorial. It was only after seeing your pram was  inspired to try making one for my own. Dr. Sonia is an amazing crafter and has some amazing tutorials up on her blog. DO go and check her blog here. Be ready to be blown away.
