Double Twisted Easel Card

Hello mates,

What's happening.. You guys been to garba for Navratri.. I went for dandiyas in Delhi.. It was super fun... After coming back from Delhi, I realized my heart is not in crafting... I keep thinking about my niece all day long waiting for her to come back...So to get my mojo kicking I arranged all my craft stuff (AGAIN.. it was already neat, I scattered it and re-did it all over again).. And Voila, the brain started functioning A BIT... *wink*

I have made a few easel cards before, the simple ones and I wanted to try something more complicated, so I gave a try to the twisted easel card hoping it would be complicated, but it really is not.. It's very simple nd is all about correct measurements and  balance..So I searched and saw some lovely samples of twisted easel cards and made my own...Quite a bit of firsts in this card for me.. Will list them later

WARNING: Picture Heavy post

So here goes my take on the twisted easel card...

Ok, you have to excuse me for the bad pictures.. The light was dwindling and the weather is not helpful for photographs... And this needs to be posted ASAP.... So this is my take on the double twisted easel card.. I'll give you close ups of all the elements and then prattle about the card...

The left panel...

The right panel:

The tags.. They are just cut in shapes and punched and an eyelet is studded into them.. No mean feat.. just for writing sentimental ramblings...

The centre sentiment.. :D

That was one heck of a post with lots of pictures... LOL... Anyways.. let's dissect this card...

The base is a 10*10 beige card stock bought locally ( I know that's like HUGE).. The panels are 5*5 squares of the same colored card stock.. On the panels I have used a double-sided PP which was a RAK on my birthday from Ash.. The base PP was a birthday RAK from Shruti. The image is a coloring page from Sarah Kay I found on Google... The die cuts have been traced and hand cut and done some faux stitching around both the die cuts... The ribbon is from my stash and so are the mulberry roses ( using them for the first time.. Yipppeeee).. The tags are of all basic shapes made from scraps left from the cards I keep making.. Did faux stitching on them and the pink ribbon is from my stash.. Blinged it up using some Pie Lane butterflies.. On the pocket panel are PTI butterflies, traced and cut on scraps of PPs left with me... blinged up the butterfly using Pie Lane chunky glitter.. The black stones are from my stash.. The center sentiment is borrowed from a friend.. Used an Ek Success border punch in black for the centre.. Some more Pie Lane butterflies and faux stitching and touched up with Pie Lane buttons... :-).. The eyelets are bought from a local shop!

There you have it.. All the ingredients for a card which took me a whole load of time.. Almost 6 hours.. :-|... The longest I have ever taken to complete one card...

Anyways am entering this card for the following challenges:-
ICRC11=> Easel card+ use basic shapes (squares, circles, rectangles and triangles)
Allsorts=> 5 flowers
Creative Card Crew=> Easel cards
Paper and such design=> Recipe ( ribbon, designer paper, 2 buttons)

That's all folks.. Your comments are highly valuable for me... Have a great week...

Hugs,
Khush

Girls Just Wanna Have fun..!!

I am back with another card... This card has been on my mind for ages.. Been itching to try it out and when I did.. It's come out awesome.. Love the whole layering of it...!! It's a gatefold+joyfold card...

First take a look at it...!!

 Isn't she gorgeous... I think I am smitten by her and pink.. I seem to be making a lot of pink cards lately.. :D

I'll show you all the panels and get done with it.. Nothing much to say about it..

For those who want to know how I made this.. I took a 6*12 cardstock and scored it at 3 and 9 to get a gatefold card... for the joy fold u need a piece slightly smaller than this one so i took a 5*10 folded in half.. stick the smaller piece into the right panel and voila your done...!!

A close up of the image.. I love her love her love her.. ( I now sound like Miss Havisham from Great Expectations)

Supplies used for this card:-
Cardstock=> Fabriano Elle Erre

FLIPPED

Yee Hawww.. Don't mind me.. Was just watching the cowboys Vs Aliens Trailer.. Doesn't Daniel Craig look HOT.. * Drooling *...

Anyways.. Today I made a foray back into crafting and it took me the entire day to complete the card.. surprises surprises.. The reason being.. I made the same thrice... The first time I missed a step and the paper went waste * 'dang it*.. The second time I did everything correct and was jumping with joy BUT it wasn't to be so.. I managed to stick it wrong.. * double dang it*.. Finally I made it correctly at the third attempt and am rather proud of myself.. * pat pat*..

I made a circle flip up book for the very first time.. There are lot of tutorials on the web.. Just google it.. It looks complicated but is rather easy to make.. I had a ball making it...

Warning: Loaded with pictures...

Let's have a look at it....

  This is how the flip books looks when it is tied... I cut the circle using the side plates of my dinner set :D.. Since I don;t have a circle cutter.. I make do with what I have.. Psstt Karuna you listening right... :D

This is how it looks when it is tied up... ( there in the background you can see my jeans.. IGNORE) concentrate here.... These are the first and the last panels....

Now the middle two panels...

 Now let me show you the close up of each panel.. I'll speak of the supplies as we go because it used a lot of my supplies... PHEW..

PANEL 1:

 Well the supplies for this panel are:
Card Stock=> Fabriano Elle Ere
PP=> Hobby Ideas, DCW
Embellishment=> Echo park spring time stickers, Pie Lane heart stockers, Petaloo flowers which I had won in a giveaway and I have put brads for centres which again I had won in Holley's giveaway)
Those lovely words you see are a text sheet from squigglefly.. I cut them and out them in as adjectives..

PANEL 2:

This panel has Fabriano Elle Erre as card stock, Studio Calico and the DPs from the ICR Swap by Ash, The stockers are from Echo park Spring time and the flowers with brads are petaloo and from Holley's swap respectively...

PANEL 3:

 This panel has Fabriano Elle Erre Card stock, Hobby Ideas DP.. The stocker embellishments from Echo Park springtime and Pie Lane Lotus..

LAST PANEL:

 This panel has Fabriano Elle Erre as cardstock, Hobby Ideas DP, Buttons from stash and Pie Lane butterflies and Echo park Springtime Text box...

Friendship- Nothing better than it...

Before I start my usual rambling.. Just wanted to thank my cousin who has very patiently sat and cut the image for me.. The shoulder seems to hurt more than usual so she's cut the image and re-sized the papers for me.. rest is all my work.. :D Including the painting.. it took me soo long to paint this image...

Anyways first take a look at the card and then we'd do some talking about it..

This is a tag in a box card.. I had found the tutorial somewhere and had the instructions written.. So in case anyone wants it.. shoot a mail.. will send it over to you...In reality the tag inside the box is supposed to be hinged through a brad.. but since I don't have any at the moment.. I stuck it...so the tag you can see.. I have pulled it out.. I have left it blank to write whatever I have to...

Close up now...

 I had a lot of fun making this card.. I like trying different folds.. Somehow normal single folds don;t appeal to me...

Anyways here are the supplies used:
Cardstock => Fabriano Elle Erre
DP=> Studio Calico
Digi Image=>Anne Bodil
Sentiment=> Our very Own Erum from Vibgyor Crafts
Bling from Pie Lane (Ofcourse)
Fiskars sun burst punch
Ribbon locally brought

The card is made especially for my guru's, i.e. Anita's anniversary challenge wherein we had to make a card for a blogger friend.. My card is for Karuna a.k.a Crafting queen
