CAS with stencils

Hey guys,

How is everyone doing.. I am very excited as this is my birthday month and I have some very exciting things coming on the blog on Sunday.. So keep an eye on it..

Sharing with you guys the card I made for the CAS challenge inspiration for Kaftzone.. Please do check out the challenge and join in.. There are prizes to be won of course...

I made a simple layered CAS card using stencils.. CAS can be interpreted differently by everyone.. For me it is the absence of too much of embellishments..

Made my card using Memory Box stencils, inks and heat embossing..

This quote is just so inspiring.. it cheers me up no end when I feel down.. It gives the feel of a one layer card but is in reality a 2 layer one.. The white on white is confusing and I have given it a raised look with dimensional tape..

Supplies Used:-
card stock=> Fabriano Elle Erre and Brustro
Distress Inks=> Vintage photo, Mustard seed, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade
Versamark Ink Pad
Ranger Gold Embossing Powder
Memory Box Sunrays Stencil..
MS 3-in-1 Butterfly punch
Pearls

Entering this for the following Challenges:-
Crafty Sentiments Designs=> Add a Sentiment
Tuesday Throwdown=> Mellow Yellow
Addicted to CAS=> Gold
A Gem of a Challenge=>Embossing

This is it,... Thanks for dropping by.. See you guys soon...

Love you always

Hello everyone,

I am back on the blog after almost a month.. I cannot live up to my promise of being regular it seems..Going through a no Mojo phase.. I hope to get back to crafting soon...

Sharing with you the card I made for my swap for swap central.. Will be sharing the cards one by one.. (will increase my frequency to the blog, LOL)

This was my favourite card of the lot using my favourite Penny Black stamp every which way.. It has the cutest hedgehogs ever..

I followed one of the from Retro sketches.. They have some really cool and fun sketches...

Used inchies to stamp my hedgehogs... Aren't they adorable..They were popped on dimensional tape to give it a 3-D look. the red strips are made using card stock scraps..

A simple layered CAS card which I had a ball making...

Supplies used:-
Card stock=> Locally purchased, Fabriano Elle Erre and Brustro water colour paper
Stamp=> Penny Black Every Which Way (the craftshop.in)
Ink=> Archival Black (crafters corner)
Staedler water colour pencils

An experiment with paper and more

Hey guys,

How is everyone doing?? Hope everyone is enjoying the heat. Yep, I am being sarcastic.. This nasty heat wave has taken a toll on me..I feel lethargic all the time and even though my mind is flooded with ideas, I have no real enthusiasm to get up and craft.. Even the air conditioner is not providing any relief..

Sharing today is my fist DT post for the Imaginations Blog. Imaginations has now started it's monthly challenges and it would be great if you would join along. There are prizes to be won of course.

So when were asked to use Distress Inks on our projects, I was really excited for I absolutely love my Distress Inks. They are the most magical and versatile thing ever. ( I say that for most of my craft supplies).

I was just browsing through my phone and this idea for a wall hanging got fixated on my head.. Everything on this project is done from scratch and I love it. My husband was mighty impressed with it. Sat down with me to give me inputs on placements and colour schemes. Actually everyone in the house was involved for this one- right from my MIL to my SIL.. :D.. What can I say, I have a super cool supportive family and everyone has a creative side.

So now that I have rambled enough, let me show you the pictures of my wall hanging..

This is right now hanging on the speed regulator of my fan.. LOL.. Yet to find a good place to click pictures of my projects in the new house. The hunt is on..

Now a few close up shots of a few elements...

A play of colours below the sentiment, die cuts to form a kind of branched out look and the super gorgeous Prima dolls.

Antique Engravings butterfly stacked together to give it a 3-D look..

Scallop scare die cuts for writing your own personal message

When I was making this I had two people in my mind- Tejal and Saumya.. The butterflies remind me of her and this doll of Saumya. My two friends who kick my butt ALWAYS so that I improve myself and I love them to bits for it.. Good friends are difficult to find and I have the best. :D

The orientation of the scored wall is wrong or so you might feel. I had scored it right but husband dearest wanted me to do it the opposite way. Who am I to deny him. So it happened this way.

Supplies Used:-
Card stock=> Fabriano Elle Erre, locally purchased and brustro.
Distress inks=> Vintage photo(Craft Adda), Tea Dye (Radhika), Walnut Stain, Mustard Seed, Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry,Festive berries, Crushed Olive (Thecraftshop.in)

Inked Background

Hello there,

I am back with yet another card which is inspired by Jennifer Mcguire's tutorial on her youtube channel. the technique was so cool and quite simple which made me wonder why had I not thought of it before. I am a huge fan of Jennifer's work and when it comes to inks I think she is like the ultimate guru. There is so much to pick up after seeing her work. The way she mixes inks with different elements to come up with the most awesome cards ever..

I will just go on and show the card to you guys..

Layering Fun

Hello,

Back with yet another quickie card.. Made this card on request and is very heavily layered by my standards. I am not a layering person and find it strange to keep piling things on my card and making it heavier LOL.

This was a kind of unplanned card and I just went with the flow of layering and adding things here and there. I really want to say hats off to people who rock at layering. I wonder how and truly salute you.. Since I got back to crafting, I have been making a serious effort of trying to play along with a few challenges and just enjoy the fun I get from crafting.

So here are the pics.. I have completely forgotten to take pics for the inside and it is now gone to the recipient.. :D.. Did some heat embossing and used my MFT chevron die for the inside, just to pretty it up a little bit. Like I said, layering and lots of layering.

Loved assembling this card. Once it started rolling I had a ball. A special mention to Nupur Priya.. Your image coloring a tremendous inspiration. I am now actually practicing coloring like you ( miles and miles to go). She does the most awesome coloring ever and her work is a treat to the eyes.

This is a 6"x6" card which I have just layered. I had the option of trying some fold but I seem to be enjoying this phase of just creating normal cards and using the hoarded PPs.. LOL

Supplies used:-
cardstock=> locally purchased, fabriano elle erre and brustro
PP is something I picked up from a local exhibition ( the same is available with reena gupta of craftegenous)
black archival ink and vintage photo distress ink

Pink Love

Good morning everyone. Here is wishing everyone a fabulous Sunday. I am back with a quick post on a card I made yesterday. I was browsing through Pinterest when this sketch caught my fancy. I am not really a sketch person for somehow I can never follow the sketch ( I end up adding or missing elements from the original sketch, LOL). I can proudly say I did manage to do and I am so chuffed about it.

It is my favourite color combo card-PINK and BLACK. Yes, I truly believe when you cannot get a color combo going, go for pink and black, it solves everything. I do not have the sketch saved me as I had roughly drawn it on the paper for reference. Pinterest is a life saver when you want to make cards just for fun. go pick a sketch from the zillion available and get cracking. I did break my head for over 4 hours on this one because I could not get my embellishment placement in place.

Here goes,

Standing: front view

side view

close up:heat embossed sentiment

This was a fun card to come up with. I tried so many color combinations before of course going to my beloved pink. Althought I am NOT a pink person, I love it on my cards. This is quite a big card- 5"x7". Although it is right side heavy ( like the sketch demanded, I love the blank spaces on the left side. It balances out in my eyes)

Supplies Used:-
card stock=> Locally purchased, KCK(Honeymoon Splurge) and Brustro
PP=> Paper Mania Confetti collection from Jovita
Embossing folders=> Provocraft dots from Varshitha and interlocking circles from the craftshop

Post-it holders

Hello,

I am back.. I know I promised to make it more often to my blog but it just isn't happening.. Trying my best to be as regular as possible. Recently I had been itching to try new things ( Read: Something which most people have done except me). While looking into my stash, found some post-its lying around so thought of trying to make something out of it and voila, here I am with my post-it holders.

They really are the cutest thing ever and so much fun to make. I had a blast making these two. Kept the color same while I played along with embellishing it. fun and quirky are the words I would use for it. While there is a space constraint when working with it, they really make you think hard as to how to go about embellishing it to the maximum with the minimum possible space available. in short, a brain teaser.

So with all the rambling on about it, here goes

Here are the two I made. The base and the layering is the same while I embellished it in different ways. Used distress inks, stamp and mulberry flowers on one and die-cuts on the other. The idea for the embellishment did come when I was one the verge of sleeping.and this idea comes. I got up and execute the same. I am quite happy with the way these two have turned out.

Materials used:-
Cardstock=> My purchase from singapore
stamp=> Kaisercraft
Distress inks=> Peacock feathers, festive berries, mustard seed and crushed olive
Archival Black Ink
Mulberry flowers and punched leaves
Dots embossing folder
MFT eiffel tower die
American craft pattern paper for the fan fold flower.

Hello,

yes Yes I know I am MIA but I have valid reasons for it... I am genuinely going through a Low Mojo phase and had it not been for my DT projects, I am sure I would not have been crafting.. ( Thanks Color Conceptions for this)

recycled Tin

Hello,

I am back after a mini vacation.. Went to attend my cousin's wedding and had a blast.. it was so much fun catching up with all my cousins after ages..

Back to work for me now.. So our second challenge at color conceptions is all about recycling and using washi tape.. Now you guys know how much I love my washi tape and Priya send me some cool neon colors which I went ga-ga over..

I recycled a barley seeds tin into a trinket holder for the many tiny hair accessories my niece seems to have... So take a look...

the bloom was a cream colored itsy bitsy flower which I have turned into a sparkly pink using the memento fireworks spray.. They are so awesome with a subtle sheen to them... This is the front...

the backside

There is still time to play along with the second challenge at color conceptions. For details click here.

Thanks so much for dropping by... Have a great week...

Fridge Magnets

Hello,

Back with another post.. Sharing my magnets which I made for the fridge magnet swap at Swap Central... My very first attempt and it was good fun...

Magnets are a great way to personalize gifts and send... Very versatile and something really long lasting..

I concentrated mainly on stamping well for the simple reason I had lack of time and I was really pushing it..

This is a trellis I tries.. I have seen Hussena do some of the most gorgeous trellis cards ever and really really neat.. I still have to work on the neatness...

Simple distressing and voila I am done.. This is one of my favorites because of the brightness... Cheers me up no end..

Some pattern paper and and some die-cuts and I am done...

Tried the double emboss resist technique.. it did not quite come out the way it was supposed to but still looks cool...

Simple stamping..

 Simple start burst

Some embossing and some sanding and a giant bloom...

Some tone on tone stamping...

Another double emboss resist attempt but love the grainy look of this one...

Water color pencil colored background...

 consolidated pic of my swap

Thanks for dropping by... Will see you soon with another post...
Till then,

My association with the store is quite recent but really really amazing. Completely impressed by the professional way in which priya deals with her customers and ensures safe delivery of the supplies. Another plus which really makes me a bit bent towards the store are the prices.. She has some super cool products up on sale at very affordable prices.  We crafters are always on the lookout for the best deals and I would definitely recommend peeking into the store.

This would be fresh and new start to you and to us . Would it not be apt to have a related theme for this month? So here we go!

Challenge 1 : A new Beginning and use Bakers Twine.

Here is a sneak peak of my inspiration for the challenge. Full view of the project in Challenge blog!

So when I first got to know we had to use Bakers Twine I was like dude, no way.. Wanna know why.. I am a bakers twine virgin.. I don't like things knotty for they scare me.. ( Now you understand my not so enthusiastic approach to using ribbons on projects).. I have gone CAS on my project.. You can see the butterfly and the twine.. Well, now build up your imagination... :D.. I shall give the full details later.. Just want to say this.. I had a ball making this card.. from the conceptualization to the execution...

TIP: Glossy accents work really well for sticking bakers twine.. You got to be careful and not mess up your hands with glue else it would dirty your twine.
