My first try at distressing!

Hey guys,

How is the weekend coming along for you people. I have a messy desk and a truck load of work to get over before I can heave a sigh of relief and take a break.. :(

Yesterday I made a notebook on order for my cousin to gift to her friend... I made an A4 size note book...

The front and back cover are card stock and inside are 150 white printer sheets which I then got spiral binded locally...

This is a very special project as I tried distressing of such a large area for the very first time.. Completely inspired by Tejal and Erum (fantastic crafters the two of them) They possibly do some of the best distressing I have seen so far and am truly trying to learn by observing closely the things they do with that small ink pad cube...

I shall just go and show you the pics...

I absolutely love love love the distressed BG I created (talk about boasting.. *wink*)

A close-up of the sentiment.. The pearls were white.. I turned them red by coloring themw ith my BIC markers..

multi-fold note cards day #1=> Easel cards

Hello everyone,

The last swap at swap central India saw up swapping multi-fold notecards, 4 cards of each of 5 different folds and each card had to be different.

To say it was a mammoth task would be an understatement. I wasted so many card stocks and finally one fine day, the brain started working and then there was no stopping it.

I will be posting each fold as a separate post instead of making one big post. This way I will also have things regularly being updated on my blog.. LOL

Today I will be sharing my easel cards with you.. I absolutely love making easel cards. They are just so versatile and there are endless possibilities as to how you can incorporate different elements to do up your easel cards.

I tried all the various types and wasting enough paper to realize that it is best to keep it simple...

So without further rambling, here goes...

I love the ric-rac in rainbow colors... I did add pearls to the punched card stock on the base later on so they are not here. Added them as an after thought.
Supplies used:-

Polka dotted Washi tape on the border
PTI ric-rac die. Spell binders floral ovals for the oval cut

Finally understanding the concept of the use of negative space, love the outcome of this card. Looks like the giraffe is peeking inside a window.. :D

Suppleis Used:-
card stock=> Locally purchased
Digi was found on Pinterest
negative space of floral ovals die
Black pearls RAK from Spardha (Thanks girlie)
MS doily lace punch

Lots of stamping and some fussy cutting on this easel card.

Supplies used:-
Card stpck=> Locally purchased and fabriano elle erre
stamps=> recollections love bird and HA Playful Animals
Inks=> Unity Noir and Memento
Itsy Bitsy boutique flower inked using tea dye distress Ink

This one if my favorite of the lot. Love the heat embossed vellum butterfly against all that black and pink.

friendship at it's best- This one's for you Piyu, Shalini and Shruti

My last and final post for my truly inspirational friends who I have had the privilege to meet in the blog land...

Priyadarshini or Piyu as she is fondly called everywhere is known for her quilling but I love all her work which even doesn't have quilling... Her eye for color and neatness spurs me to try and maybe reach her level...Someone who is always there to just talk and have fun... :D

Shruti or Maddo is a crazy whack... Her style is totally unique and well I could not emulate her even if i wanted too.. Just do not have my brains working the way hers does... :D

Shalini is more than EVERYTHING to me and her friendship is now beyond the realm of just blogger or crafting...

So this is my dedication to them... The tute for this card was found on Pinterest and I had noted it down so sorry I cannot link it bk to the original...

After ages am back with a PICTURE HEAVY POST \m/

This is what me made for you Saumya...

The red flower reminded me of you.. the first time I actually saw you, you were in red... *wink*

open view

the sentiment

I just realized that the sentiment is crooked... *rolling my eyes*... But this holds so true for you Saumya.. That day the amount I laughed is unreal.. I hadn't laughed so much in ages... I associate smiles with you and lots of  giggles... ;)

Thank you for being such a  beautiful part of my life...I just want you to know that you really are a HUGE inspiration... my cards sucked till you came back to life on my BBM again... *cheesy* I know but the darn truth.. Live with it... and be prepared to be bugged out of your life... :P..

This one's for you Tee!

So what do you do when a friend makes a suggestion and we turn it into a full-fledged card making drive.. Aaah well, the joys of friendship.. One never says NO to any idea.. Just tweak it around to make it more appealing...

The woman's day inspirational card idea was Tejal's and it appealed to me immensely... It does make sense to make something for a crafter friend who has inspired you in some way and what better way to show appreciation than do a post about it...

So, I start off with probably my most fav person... Tejal... Doing anything for her is a pleasure as well as a very daunting task... but what the hell, she is now used to my eccentric behavior and has accepted the fact that I am beyond repair... :P

This card is dedicated to you Tejal- for all you have done... taught me everything I know so far about stamping... My masking class over the BBM was epic... and all the photographs back and forth each day just teaches me something new.... An honest opinion about my work and not worrying whether I would feel bad about it ( I do not feel bad... pushes me to try better and impress you... tough ask but am up for the game.. :D... SO thank you so so so much for all you do.. not just for me but for a lot of people... I know there are a lot of us who have greatly benefited from your help...

So, I made an all stamped card for Tejal  no surprises there), Used butterflies on it (cheeky grin)... and used glitter (uncontrollable laughter).... Oh yes I am quite predictable that ways... :P but how could I not incorporate the three things which Tejal is known for... :D...Tee I am awaiting a comment for this one....

So, for the very first time I tried triple layer stamping... I have been wanting to do this for ages but I guess got the correct motivation now....

I loved how this card came about and pretty quickly too. I did waste some paper because I could not find the right stamp for it.. Finally went for my BG stamp... and this is it... :D
